lpv:spoken text	"As the United Kingdom did not participate in the original Council Decision with regard to automated exchange of dactyloscopic data, and is therefore not taking part in the adoption of this Decision, I abstained on this report. While I support the objectives of the Decision, which are to have more Member States cooperating in the fight against serious crime and terrorism, the provisions on the exchange of DNA and fingerprint material relate closely to many of the elements of the Prüm Treaty which the UK has not yet implemented. Under the Prüm Treaty, a Member State can ask another state to check key personal data (and car registrations) against their database as part of a criminal investigation. I have significant concerns regarding certain civil liberties and data protection elements, and the cost implications related to its implementation."@en1
