"Madam President, this oral question conflates the issues of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia and infers that they have the same cause. Now, the rise in anti-Semitism is in direct relation to the rise in fundamentalist Islam. Look at the ideology that inspires it. Let me quote, once again, the Hadith and the sayings of Mohammed: ‘Judgment day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews. Jews will hide behind the rocks and the trees, and the rocks and the trees will cry out, “Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.”’ Here is an extract from a more recent sermon by Sheikh Abid al-Rahman al-Sudayyis, an Imam at the al-Haram Mosque in Mecca. He reportedly described Jews as ‘the scum of the human race, the rats of the world, the violators of pacts and agreements, the murderers of prophets, and the offspring of pigs and apes’. Instead of asking the Commission what it is going to do to combat hate crime, the authors of this question should ask the Islamic leaders in Europe to publicly and unequivocally reject these hateful teachings. As for Islamophobia, my dictionary describes a phobia as an irrational fear. Many people have a perfectly rational fear of the followers of the cult of Mohammed who subscribe to and hold the views I quoted."@en1
