"I support amendments that relate to tackling fraud and meeting the criteria of transparency. Amendments relating to terrorism, human trafficking and child labour; I fully support these amendments that protect nations and individuals from danger.
I do not agree with social and labour laws that are being imposed. We have to agree with the tightening of procedures that combat fraud, tax evasion and embezzlement of union funds.
There are a number of amendments that require contractors to adhere to EU policies relating to labour laws and environmental laws, and require the Commission to have more empowerment to enforce certain articles. There is concern relating to amendments dealing with procurement issues. The Committee on Foreign Affairs has stated that procurement rules recognise the aims and objectives of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) so that EU Military and Civilian Operations have the resources to fulfil the objectives of the CSDP.
The protection of whistleblowers and their fundamental rights is something that I can support due to the fact that we can highlight the failings of the EU in certain matters relating to the management of the budget. I voted to abstain."@en1
