The UK Independence Party is in principle opposed to the European Union having the power to legislate for the United Kingdom and would normally vote against any report which advocated legislation or which was itself a legislative proposal. In this instance we are very mindful of the impact of debts up to EUR 10 000 being unpaid to UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the effort and costs of recovering such sums, and UKIP is therefore minded not to oppose this report.
