lpv:spoken text	"Madam President, tackling poverty and tackling climate change are of course two sides of the same coin. The UN’s sustainable development agenda cannot be considered in isolation from the wider conversation on COP 21. An essential component in tackling both the eradication of poverty and climate change is financing. I am hugely encouraged by the words of the First Vice-President today when he says that private finance can, and must, play a significant role in the financing of both development and climate. The huge disparity that exists in different countries’ ability to finance and muster financial resources means that we cannot rely solely on public sources of financing. We all have a role to play in both tackling climate change and tackling poverty. This is why we must ensure that all industries, regardless of the sector – whether they be private or public – play a role, and that they contribute to solving the problem and do not undermine it."@en1
