"Education is a transformative tool for challenging gender stereotypes, empowering women and girls and is a driver of the economy. Schools are fundamental in shaping attitudes, choices and ambitions. We need to create learning environments where gender stereotypes are challenged, where no child is discriminated against, and where all children can thrive. Women are still under-represented in senior leadership positions whilst being over-represented in early years and primary education. As a result, girls often lack role models, particularly in science and technology subjects. I voted for this report because it rightly identifies the urgent need to tackle these inequalities and presents practical solutions."@en1
