"More than two million seals have been saved from being clubbed to death or shot since the introduction of the EU ban on the trade in seal products in 2009. I believe this vote to end the trade in seal products will reinforce a more stringent EU ban and uphold our values on animal welfare. The only way such bans work is through cooperation and international action, and on issues like this the EU has led the way."@en1
