lpv:spoken text	"The cultural and creative sector accounts for up to 4.5% of the EU GDP and gives work to 8.5 million people, meaning it does not just contribute to cultural development and diversity but is also crucial for the real economy. Yet in many parts of the creative sector, people still do not receive fair pay for their work. Half a million performers across the EU are not fairly rewarded when their performances are exploited via online on-demand services, and many of them are in too weak a position to negotiate better terms. Technology has advanced, but copyright is still stuck in the past. I urge the Commission to ensure that authors and performers enjoy an unwaivable right to remuneration when their products become available on digital platforms, in order to safeguard the important role they play both in terms of culture and education and for the real economy."@en1
