lpv:spoken text	"The EU needs to ratify the Doha Amendment if the EU or the Conference of Presidents are to carry any weight when it comes to tackling climate change. If the EU does not ratify the amendment, it will be seen as backing away from its responsibility to the environment and will lose any opportunity it has to take a lead on climate change negotiations globally. Having played an active role on many climate change related files in the ENVI Committee, I understand the technical challenges that lie ahead, but I am also confident that this Parliament will be overwhelmingly unified in its support of the Doha Amendment and I look forward to Europe proactively setting the agenda in Paris later this year."@en1
