The report is a strong call to the Commission and Member State governments to take action to fight the root causes of violence against women, to promote education for gender equality and to support initiatives empowering women in culture and media, among many other strong policy demands. I am delighted so many colleagues, both men and women, voted for the resolution, and I look forward to seeing what steps the Commission will take in response to it."@en1
