The facts related to the alleged offence of ‘contempt of court officials’ and while this offence does feature in the Lithuanian criminal code, there are very concerning facts in some of the WikiLeaks cables on this case that one could interpret as being politically motivated, given also that the MEP concerned is a Lithuanian Russian minority language speaker. For the above mentioned reasons, I abstained on this vote."@en1
