"The mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) provides one-off support, under specific conditions, to workers who have lost their jobs as a result of major structural changes in world trade patterns. As a trade unionist and a member of the Trade Union Intergroup, I therefore voted in favour of this report which was an application to provide approximately EUR 6 million of EU aid to help around 2 500 workers who lost their jobs from France’s former road haulage company Mory-Ducros in 2014. This fund will support those workers made redundant in finding new jobs.
The UK has never made an application under this fund. UK workers therefore receive none of this support."@en1
