lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, the very House in which we sit is built upon foundations that were built out of absolute carnage. It would be quite wrong – and our two sister institutions are present here today – for anybody to expect this House to do anything other than to stand by our core principles. If we do not support the resolution that has been put before us in the vote that we take, then I am afraid the world will know that this House does not stand by the principles it preaches to others. I visited Yerevan very recently. Whilst I was there, taking part in the Euronest discussions and our parliamentary cooperation committee, we finalised texts and I have co-signed the resolution that is going to be put before this House. Whilst President Erdogan may take the view that he is going to ignore what this House has to say, for how long is he going to ignore all of those Turkish people that are saying exactly what we have said in our resolution? I say to the Turks and I say to the Armenians: ‘Our intent is constructive. We want to help you both to move forward towards normalisation of relations.’ But to do that we must first stand by our own core principles."@en1
