lpv:spoken text	"We see from the US Senate report that some measures adopted to counter terrorism have violated human rights and the rule of law. The objectives are to save human lives and dignity in the face of a terrorist threat. The continued silence of some EU States is a disgrace. The Parliament has demanded on numerous occasions that these countries must come clean. They must provide the whole truth about the human rights violations committed and facilitate genuine access to justice for all the victims. Violation of human rights cannot serve as an excuse for combat against terrorism in the name of ‘national security’. Respect for human rights and the rule of law must prevail and these must be the bedrock of it."@en1
