"Mr President, the internet’s great strength is the freeing of information to all. You can access more information now through a small hand-held, relatively cheap device than in the greatest of libraries in the past. So no surprise then that politicians seek to control and to govern this, because knowledge is power, and knowledge is freedom. Yes, we must guard against abuses and, yes, we must never allow crime to thrive through the internet, but we must also make sure that politicians never control the net. Controlling knowledge means that the status quo is maintained. I say, let the information and knowledge flow free. Let the people know the truth and let us have an information and knowledge-inspired democratic revolution where freedom of speech and true democratic democracy come back to all of Europe. That would be a great day."@en1
