"A Uachtaráin, vótáil mé arís le mo ghrúpa sna vótaí go léir anseo agus glacadh leis an tuarascáil freisin. Like my colleague Marian Harkin, I too spoke about the position of Ibrahim Halawa last July, and I want to reiterate it again today: his situation is not acceptable. This is basically a teenager who went to Egypt and got caught up in the protests there. His three sisters were with him; they were allowed to go home but he has been detained ever since. He is awaiting a mass trial, as Marian pointed out. We would again earnestly ask the Egyptian authorities to return him to Ireland so that he can pursue his studies, and let us watch his development from there. I think that would be the best course of action. Hopefully it can be done."@en1
