lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of the Ries report on the possibility for the Member States to restrict or prohibit the cultivation of GMOs, as it provides a legal basis for Member States to restrict or prohibit GMO cultivation in their territory even where such GMOs have been authorised at EU level. Grounds for prohibiting GMO cultivation may include agriculture policy objectives, land use, socio-economic impacts, public policy and co-existence. For the first time Member States have legal certainty about the cultivation of GMO, giving them freedom to cultivate or not in line with their own wishes. The amending directive respects the principle of subsidiarity."@en1
