"Mr President, as Chair of the South Caucasus delegation, I am particularly pleased to see that the rapporteur has set out in the report, in very clear terms, Georgia’s assured European future. Georgians must know that they can be assured of our European solidarity. The extension of our monitoring mission is just one indication of that. The Georgian Government has a clearly signposted road ahead. Now it is time to implement the many reforms envisaged by the Association Agreement. We recognise the real political challenges these changes present, but they must be delivered. Monitoring implementation of the Association Agreement, and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, sits of course with the Joint Parliamentary Committee. This Parliamentary scrutiny of our joint agenda should remain always constructive and ready to adapt to any further future challenges posed by the Russian Federation. I hope tomorrow we have a decisive and clear vote that sets out the entirety of this Parliament’s position in terms of Georgia."@en1
