"The economic recovery of Europe is highly dependent on a strong manufacturing industry. The steel sector plays an essential role in Europe’s economy; industry is currently suffering from a substantial drop in demand, leading to a continuous loss of jobs and competitiveness which does not bode well for the necessary recovery of the European economy. I voted in favour of this resolution as it calls on the Commission to ensure that future trade agreements include provisions which significantly improve export opportunities and market access for European steel and steel-based products."@en1
