lpv:spoken text	"If only the most alarmist climate predictions are taken into account, then action will be taken on short-term measures without a proper consideration of the future. This is, I believe, what is happening at present. But imagine that we developed renewables technology to a point where it became economically competitive first. People would not be in fuel poverty today, and when such technology becomes viable the advantages will see it taken up worldwide. Short-term targets lead to the development of the wrong forms of energy. Wind energy may well hit a target, but wind is intermittent and unpredictable and requires significant conventional backup. Investment in research now, and implementation when that research yields benefits, would benefit both the economy and the environment."@en1
