We heard last week that the Catalan President is to be charged with the crime of disobedience because he held an unofficial referendum on Catalan independence. He may now face up to a year in prison and be banned from public office for 10 years. Does anyone in this Chamber imagine that the Spanish officials who are breaking the law by throwing migrants back over the fence will ever be threatened with such a punishment as a year in prison? They will not be threatened with any punishment at all. As for the transgressions against Gibraltarian sovereignty, I rest my case."@en1
