"Madam President, the EU is spending more than its taxpayers are willing to give. The EU wants to spend on all manner of things that, if asked, I would suggest many of the taxpayers would not support.
Equality, in its general terms, seems to be one of the targets of this spending. Well, the society that puts equality before freedom ends up with neither, and the society or the organisation that puts spending on fantastic schemes and goals above economic soundness ends up with debts burdened upon people, late payments, complete sterility of ideas and failure.
I put it to you that this organisation needs to think again. Someone mentioned a complete restart. I certainly think a complete halt and some rational thought to realise that you cannot spend more than you bring in. The people do not want to give you any more. That is the truth."@en1
