GAD société anonyme simplifiée operates in the economic sector classified under NACE Rev. 2 division 10 (ʽManufacturing of food productsʼ). The French authorities argue that the global financial and economic crisis led to reduced pig meat consumption in Europe, which in turn caused a decline in the production of pig meat and throughput of abattoirs such as GAD. The EUR 918 000 in aid will pay for personalised services consisting of advice and guidance to the 760 redundant workers, provided by a team of expert consultants. The UK has never made an application under this fund. UK workers therefore receive none of this support."@en1
