"Madam President, this is a debate over tax avoidance with a President who built his career on encouraging tax avoidance in his own country. Then comparisons between the EU and the USA, talking about lame-duck presidents. Maybe a flock of Socialist lame-duck presidents perhaps! In this chamber of fantasies, where earlier on today Members claimed credit for the fall of Communism without mentioning the UK or the USA, I find it wholly inappropriate that such matters should be discussed. Let us leave it to sovereign national governments. They can employ proper expertise, for the benefit of ordinary taxpayers – people who are sick of the stitch-ups that are outwitting this waddle of lame ducks – and maybe the lame duck-in-chief, Mr Juncker, could do the honourable thing and resign."@en1
