To give us a vote in which the option is to vote ‘yes’ or to abstain is bad enough, but when you look at Rule 17 of the Rules of Procedure of this House, it does not provide for such a system. Rule 17 speaks of how vice-presidents of the Parliament are elected. There is nothing whatsoever in that rule that gives you the authority to hold a ballot where the choice is ‘yes’ or ‘abstain’. This is democracy EU-style!"@en1
