"Mr President, today my Labour colleagues and I have voted for the EU to do more of what it is good at: working collectively to deliver real benefits – developments in technology like the Composites Centre in Bristol, where cutting-edge research is delivering for industry. Projects like this keep the UK and Europe as world leaders in science and technology. We voted for investment for growth: projects like the Hub in Lockleaze, where businesses have benefited from funding that would not have happened without the EU, and voted for regional funding that goes directly to communities – communities like Cornwall, communities that are best able to determine how to deliver for people locally. We also voted for the EU to fulfil the global demands that national governments have put on it, whether in Ukraine, in Gaza or on Ebola. These are areas where we are more than the sum of our parts, where the EU makes a real difference. I am proud that Labour MEPs have stood up for constituents in these areas."@en1
