"Today I voted in favour of the new Commission led by Jean-Claude Juncker. The Commission received backing from a very large majority of the Parliament, and Mr Junkerʼs own nomination is the direct result of the outcome of the European Parliament elections. Never before has a Commission had more democratic legitimacy and been more accountable. The Commission has promised to lead a coordinated policy approach leading to stability, growth and unity for its citizens and Member States and we have insisted it cooperates closely with this Parliament."@en1
