lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I have voted against the proposal to remove Fiji from the beneficiaries of duty-free quota-free access to the EU market, because of the disastrous impact it would have on the sugar, agriculture and processed agricultural product sectors of the Fijian economy. Many Fijian workers who rely on these export sectors could lose their jobs and livelihoods as a result, with no certainty that the aims of the proposed rejection would have any concrete political impact. Additionally, the new EPA contains a strong human rights clause, with the possibility of suspension of preferences should Fiji not respect its commitments. Therefore, the Greens and GUE are, by arguing that the EPA should not be implemented, making the chances of democratic transition more unlikely by removing possible EU leverage."@en1
