As I pointed out in my speech yesterday in the Chamber, the Committee on International Trade did not even have the opportunity to come back with a proper economic argument with regard to the trade implications of this treaty. It may well be that parliamentary procedure was followed correctly yesterday – I would say it possibly was not – but it certainly was not as far as the committee stage was concerned, and that is what really arouses my concern. If this truly is a democratic institution I would think that the powers that be here should go away and learn seriously from this flawed message. But then again, you carry on doing as you wish anyway, do you not?"@en1
