"Well, I do not know the details of energy prices in your country, but I do know that Europe as a whole has the most expensive energy prices of any major economic area. I know that the reason for that is gross over-investment in inefficient and intermittent renewables. We are doing huge damage to our economy; there is no question of it. And we have to compete with America, which has cheap shale gas; with China and India, which have cheap coal and are building coal-fired power stations as if they were going out of style. Get real, realise the dangers. These are your countrymen’s jobs you are worrying about – or not worrying about."@en1
