lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I would like to refer to a long-running dispute involving a number of Irish construction companies which have had a very difficult time with the Polish authorities in the last few years. This dispute goes back to 2012. In excess of EUR 250 million has been lost. Many hundreds of jobs in Ireland have been lost through poor procurement procedure and poor contract procedure, and this was also the subject of a letter by five other European Union countries to the Polish authorities. I am looking for three things: firstly I would like the Polish roads authority to engage with the complainants in a fair and honest way; secondly, I am asking the Polish authorities to enter immediately into independent mediation to resolve this dispute; and thirdly I would ask the Commission, in the presence of one of the Commissioners here this evening, at the very least to consider this matter more closely. We are talking about EU funds, EU structural funds, the funds of the EU taxpayer, and we need to ensure that those funds are spent properly, with proper procurement procedures. There are issues in this case that need to be resolved."@en1
