This derogation expires on 31 December 2013, and the proposal seeks to renew this authorisation until 31 December 2020. In line with my consistent position on such special Article 349 fiscal measures, I opposed this report, on the basis that the Treaty provision only applies to France, Spain and Portugal, even though all Member States have their own peripheral regions and yet cannot benefit from such special fiscal exemptions and reductions."@en1
