"Parliament and the Council have reached a good agreement on the labour force sample survey. The Labour Force Survey is the framework of reference for the collection of statistical information about labour markets. Its ‘core’ modules are chiefly of interest to the Member States whereas the ‘ad hoc’ modules are more relevant to specific EU initiatives, such as those related to the employment targets under the Europe 2020 Strategy. The new regulation will enable the Commission to provide financial support to Member States implementing these modules, thereby encouraging greater participation by the Member States. I would like to see ad hoc modules on the implementation of the European Youth Guarantee. It will also take account of the reforms introduced by the Lisbon Treaty in relation to the delegation of powers to the Commission. As my Group’s shadow rapporteur for this proposal I would like to pay tribute to the rapporteur, Ms[nbsp ]Zdanoka, and the other shadow rapporteurs, for the constructive way in which they approached this dossier."@en1
