By voting for this legislation we are ensuring that workers moving to a different European Union Member State will be able to take their full pension rights with them. Currently, workers moving to other Member States risk losing many of their entitlements. The new rules will change this. Workers will now have access to their full pension rights, including to supplementary pension schemes. While previously the Council of Ministers blocked this important legislation for six years, I am encouraged by the progress in the negotiations on this legislation between Parliament and the Council and urge the Council to formally approve these measures promptly."@en1
