"The European Police College (CEPOL) is currently located in Bramshill in London. This site costs the taxpayer over £5m per year to run, and is not economically viable. The Home Secretary therefore, announced in December 2012 that the site would be sold by March 2014. The Member States agreed that CEPOL should move to Budapest in Hungary. However, the Commission and the European Parliament demanded that there would need to be a formal decision and agreement between all institutions regarding its relocation. After a fast trilogue process and significant political division, it was finally decided that Hungary would be the new location as originally agreed by Council. As Conservatives colleagues managed to negotiate that the UK would not be responsible for all the costs incurred during the move, I could support the proposal and voted in favour of the report."@en1
