lpv:spoken text	"I supported this report on the reform of the EU Solidarity Fund. I firmly believe that this fund can be used effectively to provide much needed financial assistance to areas of the EU in the aftermath of natural disasters such as floods, forest fires, earthquakes, storms and drought. The new rules will introduce a quicker response to disasters, which will be vital to many areas. The reform also encourages Member States to develop risk management and disaster prevention strategies. I saw for myself the destruction caused in the floods in my constituency of Wales a few months ago and I very much hope that by introducing these new reforms, with clearer rules on eligibility and more coherent guidance provided by the Commission, this fund will be used to its full potential."@en1
