This directive will not only make roads safer for EU citizens, but will also contribute to reducing climate change. Besides being a threat to road safety due to their dimensions, the prohibition of mega trucks, which are responsible for 26% of road-transport CO emissions, will help the EU to reach its target of reducing greenhouse gases by 20% by 2020 and 60% by 2050."@en1
