lpv:spoken text	"I supported today’s report, which will make it easier for national authorities to freeze property with a view to possible confiscation and the confiscation of property in relation to criminal matters. Statistics show that only 1% of the proceeds from crimes such as drug trafficking and small arms smuggling, are frozen or confiscated. This Directive sets out the minimum requirements, but of course Member States can go further. The new rules will also allow the confiscation of assets that are acquired through corruption in the private and public sectors and participation in criminal organizations or cybercrime. I believe that adopting a minimum level for these rules across the EU is a positive move that will help improve situations for national authorities."@en1
