I also voted in favour of a voluntary additional scheme for labelling on the provenance of meat. I did not support the motion for a resolution rejecting the Commission’s proposal and calling for mandatory provenance labelling, because to do so would have delayed, perhaps indefinitely, the introduction of origin labelling, which I support. The Commission’s proposal is a good first step."@en1
