lpv:spoken text	"I am pleased that the Socialists and Democrats were successful in pushing for binding targets in this report, which sets out an ambitious framework for climate and energy. This own-initiative report highlights Parliament’s priorities in relation to climate change and clean energy policy. I am pleased that targets for a 40% reduction in greenhouse gases and the inclusion of 30% renewables in the energy mix, as well as an energy efficiency target of 40% by 2030, were adopted. Investing in renewables and low carbon technology is vital if we are to reduce our dependency on imported fossil fuels. I hope that these measures will help UK industry and create jobs across the UK over the coming years. I am disappointed that Tory MEPs voted to water down the proposals: this once again highlights the differences between UK Government policy and the position taken by Tory MEPs on climate change and sustainable energy."@en1
