lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this own-initiative report, which looks at how energy is produced and consumed at local and regional level. It is vitally important that resources are used appropriately so that regions become producers and not only consumers of energy. I hope that, as part of a long-term policy framework, smart grids can bring numerous benefits at local and regional level e.g. lowering greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the share of renewable energy and boosting EU technology and innovation. Member States and regions should harness the use of the European structural and investment funding to achieve this."@en1
