Free movement brings many benefits to the citizens of Europe, not least the ability to work throughout the EU. Labour mobility needs to be higher if we are to improve economic competitiveness. I recognise the need to ensure that this right is not abused in order to claim benefits, but I believe access to social security systems, as a Member State competence, should be dealt with at Member State level."@en1
