This will have a positive impact on enhancing the needs of our society with the development of innovative goods and services. Under FP7 (the current research instrument), Ireland has benefited considerably, drawing down EUR 572 million in funding in the period 2007 to 2013. These monies have supported research, scientific and innovative activities in a range of areas including information, communications and technologies, agriculture and environmental services. SMEs in Ireland have also benefited, drawing down EUR 116 million under the existing FP7 programme."@en1
