lpv:spoken text	"The issue of gender disparity on boards of directors is one that requires urgent action on the part of the EU. As it stands, women make up less than 15% of membership of boards of companies listed on the European stock exchange. Introducing EU-wide compulsory quotas is crucial to achieving real change rather than hypothetical targets on paper. This proposal would demand that companies that have not met the target of 40% female representation on their board by 2020 would have to alter their selection criteria to give priority to female candidates. In politics we have seen the difference systemic solutions, such as gender quotas, have made in addressing this issue. I voted in favour of this report as part of a holistic set of solutions aimed at making much needed progress on this issue."@en1
