"I supported today's vote to amend the 2013 budget. Making sure that the EU is a position to pay its bills is important. We are now seeing bills for many projects coming in from Member States and the Commission needs to be in a position to honour commitments it has made. This amending budget was a technical measure to adjust revenue due to a fall in import and customs duties and saved the UK GBP 352 million. In future, there needs to be more clarity from the Commission regarding the current situation with the EU budget, but I am pleased that this issue has been resolved swiftly."@en1
