"Madam President, in the previous debate, Commissioner Malmström, if I heard her correctly, said that she wanted to open up more legal avenues for migration into Europe. Mrs Malmström, why do you not go to countries such as Greece, Italy, Spain, France and Great Britain and ask ordinary people how they feel about that? I imagine that the vast majority would tell you that they are ‘immigrationed out’ and that they actually want fewer – not more – waves of people coming to their country. Maybe you should try stepping outside of the Brussels ideological bubble and, dare I use the term, show some solidarity with the ordinary working people of Europe.
You talk here about border controls, but you have no intention whatsoever of actually trying to control immigration. Britain is swamped by continual waves of immigration from outside and inside the European Union and the only way we can control that is to leave the European Union."@en1
