lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I voted in favour of the Commission’s proposals to harmonise European standards for pilot flight times. This is a sensible resolution which, despite claims to the contrary, will actually improve safety for passengers and will ensure that pilots have sufficient rest periods. In addition, it is worth highlighting that the introduction of minimum standards does not mean that standards already in place in Member States – particularly the UK – will be lowered. On the contrary, in those few areas of regulation where there are higher national standards, these will remain as the standards in that country."@en1
