lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, on the frequent flyer issue I declare an interest. I voted to reject this Commission proposal. It is clear that flight time regulations have a strong impact on air transport safety. The Commission proposals have been badly thought out with very little apparent consideration given to the serious detrimental safety implications they would have for the pilots working in this industry, and for passengers. Indeed, an exhausted pilot is a dangerous pilot. Pilots themselves would be the first to acknowledge that, and the first to confirm that a tired cabin crew will not be able to respond properly in an emergency. We need to make sure that passengers are safe. Human factors are responsible for 73 % of aviation accidents and crashes. It is foolish of the Commission to make proposals which will increase pilot fatigue and the likelihood of fatal mistakes."@en1
