lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this report which seeks agreement at local, regional, EU and international level to regulate access to resources, to protect stocks and to improve governance of marine areas under existing EU and international conventions (in order to improve relations with non-EU states in the affected areas). Increased competition for marine resources and stock, when combined with the overfishing that has already proved so detrimental in EU waters, places an intolerable strain on our natural marine environments. Whilst recently agreed reforms to European fisheries policy will go a long way towards encouraging more sustainable fishing within the EU, wherever possible we must continue to support efforts to resolve tensions that arise in maritime areas in the wake of increased competition and to ensure that our activities in these areas respect the need to preserve and protect marine habitats."@en1
