This report specifically explores the causes, current trends, consequences and ways of combating prenatal sex-selection practices, which can also take the form of infanticide through neglect. Regrettably the report strays into the area of reproductive rights – this is something which I do not accept. Reproductive rights are an issue of subsidiarity and as such it lies with each Member State to determine such matters."@en1
